The organic, softly irregular forms retain the warmth and character of handmade Japanese pottery, while the luminous white gold surfaces give each piece a striking presence. Rather than being perfectly uniform, subtle variations, textures and traces of the artist’s hand become part of the beauty. As light moves across the metallic surface, the vessels reveal different expressions from every angle. Made to be held, poured from and enjoyed, this is functional Japanese art for the ritual of sake.
